Irregular Perfect: Organic Shapes in Design

December 06, 2023

Over the past few years, organic shapes were seen popping up everywhere – in Workshop/APD designs and beyond. A departure from the sharp, rectilinear forms found in many modern spaces, these elements add curvy contrast and approachable, livable softness. Below, we’ve gathered a few of our favorite examples, found in homes from New York City to Nassau, the Bahamas.

Borderless “blob” mirrors epitomize today’s organic design trend. With no clear shape, these subversive reflectors convey limitlessness.

Not round, not square, but somewhere in between, these irregularly shaped tables can be adapted to any space. Without sharp corners, each surface effortlessly blends into its surroundings.

Whether serving as a sideboard or an entry zone, these organically-shaped wall consoles provide the perfect touch of whimsy.

When the furnishings and finishes are said and done, amorphous art and décor adds an element of intrigue.
