Radio Hotel & Tower

Workshop/APD designed vibrant, modern interiors for Radio Hotel & Tower, a new Washington Heights destination by MVRDV architects and Youngwoo & Associates.  Out team wove elements from the urban landscape – including color, texture, street art, and existing architecture – together to create contextually relevant spaces that surprise and delight. In an effort to bring in the neighborhood’s varied historic architecture and eclectic design, the lobby design incorporates reclaimed, patinated and overpainted wood, metal, and brick. Found pieces inspired the lobby’s soft seating, re-envisioned into new modular sofas, and local artisans were commissioned to create indoor street art in the public spaces – an urban approach to bringing the outdoors in.
