As an Architectural Designer at Workshop/APD, Zhi Mankin contributes to residential and hospitality projects across North America. Prior to joining the firm, he worked at a boutique architecture and custom metal fabrication studio, gaining hands-on experience in single-family residential, restaurant, commercial design and construction.
Passionate about materiality and detail, he gravitates toward public-facing spaces like hotels and restaurants, where thoughtful design can bring people together and be enjoyed by a wider community. A California native from the East Bay, Zhi earned his Bachelor of Architecture from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, including a year in Florence, Italy. Outside the studio, he enjoys woodworking, photography, music, and hiking.
