Originally from Maine, Senior Designer Megan Doughty brings over a decade of experience in architecture to Workshop/APD. She earned her BA in Sociology and Communications from Tufts University before pivoting to design, completing her AAS in Interior Design at Parsons School of Design. Megan began her career in private residential architecture, later expanding into retail and hospitality, with notable work at Dutch East Design and Longchamp USA. She’s led projects across the country from concept through construction, with a portfolio spanning luxury hotels, restaurants, homes, and multi-family developments.
Megan joined Workshop/APD in 2025, drawn to the firm’s collaborative culture and the opportunity to work on projects that blend storytelling, craft, and scale. Her current work includes a new hotel in Charleston and a residential development in Midtown Manhattan, where she focuses on interior detailing, circulation, and guest experience. She finds inspiration in travel, people, and the layered architecture of cities like New York, where history and modern life coexist in every block. Outside the studio, Megan enjoys musical theater, and crafting—from ceramics to knitting.
